Markets provide rich photo pickings

Markets are always great places for discovering interesting sights and sounds and usually provide rich photo pickings too. Catania's fish market doesn't disappoint. It has been held each morning in the city centre since centuries. All types of freshly caught fish and sea creatures are bought and sold there, some more appealing looking than others. By day the surrounding streets function as a larger market area selling other non-sea related items such as fruit, vegetables and groceries so the whole area is alive and bustling with people. Here's a small selection of images from the two hours I spent wandering around the fish market and surrounding streets there.
